Friday
7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. -- -1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

If you have a non-emergency during the lunch hour, after hours each day, nights, weekends and holidays, please dial 924-7622 and your call will be routed to Dispatch.

If you have an emergency always dial 9-1-1 for the quickest, most direct service.

Reserve Officer Criteria
1. Completion of the 100 Hour preservice Reserve Officer Course which is offered at Husson College and the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.

2. Must be able to work weekends, nights and be available to fill shift with short notice and be available for call in to transport prisoners to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor.

3. Have a clean Criminal and Driving Record.

Community Message Board Installed - Oct. 2007

  • 61 Messages to the community have been displayed to date.
A collaborative effort between many individuals, civic and community organizations and the Town of Dexter, an Electronic Message Board was purchased and is displayed on the front of the Dexter Police Department. The intent of this message board is to be able to visually communicate to the public, upcoming civic, community and public safety messages.

Officer Chase resigned Dec. 15, 2007 to take full time job with Madison PD

Hired two Reserve Officers: Corey Dodge and Jonathan Ray Jan 2008

Four Bulletproof vests were purchase in November and partially reimbursed through a Maine Municipal Grant of $1600. Cost was $2400.00. The Town paid $800.00

Jon Brown resigned 1-24-08 as he was hired by State Police. He graduated from the State Police Academy in March 2008 and was number one academically in his class. He was Class President and also number one academically in the Basic Police Academy.

Officer Corey Dodge an MCJA graduate was hired on 1-24-08 and resigned 2-3-08 to take a position with Blackwater Security in Iraq

Kevin Wintle was rehired effective 2-8-08 as Full time Officer.

Jeff Gotreau resigned effective 4-19-08 to take a Patrol Officer position with Brewer P.D.

The Dexter Police Department sponsored 15 Middle School kids for Camp Postcard, a free summer camp in Augusta. Eleven were selected but only four could attend.

Inmates from the Charleston Correctional Center completed painting and installing a new tile floor 5-23-08.

Gary Morin started 6-12-08 Full Time Officer. He has experience with Newport P.D. and with an agency in New Hampshire.
